What Kobe will be wearing.
February 10, 2010
The Lakers are set to play in Utah against the Jazz tonight. With the All-Star weekend coming up, the Lakers' training staff would like Bryant to rest, but Bryant said he's not ruling out playing tonight.
"If I'm ready to go, I'll play," said Bryant
"If it's an injury where I feel like I can play through it and have it heal while I'm playing, then I'll play. But if it's the type of injury where it's going to get worse when I play, then I won't."
If he plays, he will be wearing the Zoom V Away shoe.Continue reading

Lakers beat the Blazers 99-82
February 6, 2010
During Saturday's game, the injured Kobe Bryant was replaced by Lamar Odom to aid in the Lakers breaking their nine-game losing streak at the Rose Garden with a 99-82 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Bryant has played in 235 straight games and sat out with a sore left ankle.
Bryant originally sprained his ankle in Philadelphia last week. During Wednesday night's victory over Charlotte, he aggravated it when Odom stepped on his foot.
Ron Artest had 21 points and the Lakers pulled away in the fourth quarter, leading by as many as 19 points.
Derek Fisher made a fast-break layup which pulled Los Angeles to within 41-39 before Gasol's bank shot tied it.
Artest hit a 30-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Lakers a 54-48 lead going into the break.
"They left me wide open, and I've been shooting pretty well from 3 this year," he said.

Lakers vs. Nuggets
February 5, 2010
Even with the Black Mamba playing with a sprained ankle he was able to score 33 points against the Denver Nuggets tonight.
"I could still be effective and play," Bryant said tersely. "Obviously, I'm not as explosive as I was but I can still command double teams, things like that."
When asked if the Nuggets think they are the better team after this win. Bryant replied, "I'm sure they do. They played extremely well the first two games this season and they have every right to feel that way."
Billups hit four consecutive 3s to give Denver an 87-85 lead, its first since late in the second quarter.
"Without Melo out there, you've got to make up for a lot of different things," he said. "Our style of play is a tough style to play against if you've got guys that are making shots. If we're not making shots, they'd probably beat us pretty handily. But when we are, we're a tough group to defend."
This win allowed the Nuggets to get to .500 on the road at 12-12 (126 - 113)

Lakers win at home 99-97
February 4, 2010
Phil Jackson became the winningest coach in Lakers history in Los Angeles' 99-97 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night.
Jackson is the winningest playoff coach in NBA history, and the only coach to win more than 70 percent of his regular-season games.
The Lakers hadn't been home since beating Orlando on Jan. 18, and went 5-3 on their East Coast trip.
The night was fill with excitement, starting with a standing ovation from a pregame ceremony in which Lakers great Jerry West presented him with a game ball in recognition of Bryant's ascension to the top of the Lakers' career scoring list. Bryant passed West on Monday night during the Lakers' loss at Memphis.
The Bobcats could not capitalize on Kobe Bryant's performance, who late in the first half appeared to injure his left foot when Odom stepped on it.
Andrew Bynum had 17 points and 14 rebounds, Lamar Odom scored 19 points and Pau Gasol and Ron Artest scored 14 points apiece for the Lakers
